Reston Limousine CEO Kristina Bouweiri recently shared her perspective on doing business during the downturn as a panelist at the recent 2010 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration.
The celebration, which took place March 17-19 at the Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, marked the 8th year for the award recognizing the top women entrepreneurs in North America. Kristina was asked to participate as a member of the panel on “The New Business Model: Growing Your Business in Challenging Economic Times.”
The event is organized by Enterprising Women magazine, which reaches more than 10 million women entrepreneurs. As a member of the prestigious publication’s National Advisory Board, Kristina assisted in the final selection process of this year’s winners.
“The Enterprising Women of the Year Awards is one of the most prestigious recognition programs in the world for women entrepreneurs,” Monica Smiley, publisher/CEO of Enterprising Women, said. “In light of the challenging economy, this year’s honorees have overcome many obstacles to grow their businesses, give back to others, and really shine as leaders in their communities.”

The four lucky winners were Lisa Mathey, an adoptive parent of two and an adoptive parent liaison; Gale Paige, a single mother of two, Commercial Marketing Director for Northern Virginia Roofing, and a volunteer for more than a dozen community oganizations; Judy Sheehan, a mother of three whose jobs include teaching at the Barbizon School of Modeling and hosting the local monthly television show Artscapes; and Pam Schoppert, a mother of three who volunteers for her church and other community groups such as the Junior Woman’s Club of Loudoun County and VSA Arts.
