Kick off Inaugural festivities by volunteering at the National Day of Service

If you’d like to contribute and not just participate in Inaugural activities, the National Day of Service will kick off the celebration and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the same time.

The National Day of Service will take place on Jan. 19, and a number of organizations are organizing various service projects.   Click here to find an event near you.

For Northern Virginians, Volunteer Fairfax is partnering with other organizations on a service project to assemble toiletry kits filled with assorted items for deployed U.S. Service Members, Wounded Warriors, Veterans and First Responders.

Volunteers ages 12 and up are welcome for this service project, which will take place 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Jan. 19 at the DC Armory at 2001 East Capitol Street Southeast Washington, D.C. 20003.
