Reston Limousine’s corporate philanthropy mission focuses on supporting efforts that help children with illnesses, and we were proud to recently help author Cindy Chambers to distribute her books featuring Beamer, the therapy dog, and stuffed animals to pediatric patients at three Inova Hospital campuses.
In an interview with DC Books and Authors, Cindy says the book series focuses on “having a gentle therapy dog teach children about challenging life events while introducing them to some of the wonderful people who help us along our journey through life.â€
The characters in the books are based on real-life people and animals Cindy has met, including:
- Beamer, a golden retriever who with his owner, Dominique Dupras, are a nationally certified therapy team that visits pediatric patients at Inova Loudoun Hospital
- Kyle Mitchell, Beamer’s best friend in the books and Cindy’s nephew in real life
- Dr. Edward Puccio (Dr. Poochio in the books), Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Inova Loudoun Hospital
