Sterling Women, the monthly networking luncheon founded by Reston Limousine CEO and President Kristina Bouweiri, is expecting another exciting event this week.
Each month a successful business woman in Loudoun County is invited to speak about her accomplishments. The featured speaker this week is Sandy Lerner, co-founder of Cisco Systems. She is currently the proprietor of Hunter’s Head Tavern, Home Farm Store, and farmer of a 2,000-acre certified organic, certified humane farm.
Sandy Lerner was photographed at her rustic hunt-country cabin by Don Petersen for the New York Times when the newspaper ran a profile of her in 2005.
Included in Sandy’s numerous achievements is the establishment of Chawton House Library, which houses the Centre for the Study of Early English Women’s Writing, 1600-1830. An avid reader and historian on Jane Austen, Sandy spent 26 years writing “Second Impressions,” her sequel to Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.”
The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at the National Convention Center in Leesburg. For more information, go to the Sterling Women website. Get ticket information for the luncheon here, and find out who else will be attending!
