Celebrating 30 Years: Staff Spotlight on Margaret Day

Reston Limousine is celebrating 30 years in business this year, and we’re kicking off the milestone with a profile of one of our longest serving employees, whom many consider as the heart of the company: Relationship and Event Manager Margaret Day.

In 2003, Margaret came to Reston Limousine to respond to an advertisement for a CDL driver. “But I had so much dispatch experience, KB (President and CEO Kristina Bouweiri) hired me as a dispatcher!” Her hard work and dedication led to her eventual promotion to Dispatch Manager, running the entire department. Margaret brought a wealth of knowledge in the areas of dispatching and personnel, having worked in both these fields at previous places of employment.

Highly motivated and personable, Margaret sets the standard for colleagues in providing the highest level of service possible to our clients.  Her continued commitment to excellence in that area was acknowledged when she was promoted to Relationship & Event Manager, overseeing all large movements from start to finish. In this role,  where she liaisons with affiliates around the world, Margaret has garnered respect and admiration throughout the chauffeured transportation industry for her work.

In her free time, Margaret works with her church and helping in the community; she bowls on a league; and she loves to walk  and spend time with her children, grandchildren and family, especially at their dirt bike racing competitions and marathons.

Below is a short Q&A where you can get to know Margaret in her own words:

What’s your favorite part of the job?
Dealing with people. I like to help clients when they have issues or help them plan their trip, but I also really love just getting to know everyone, from clients to employees to vendors.

How have you seen Reston Limousine grow over the years?
I’ve seen the company more than triple in size over the years and through all of our growth, we have been able to put customer service first. We’ve also been able to maintain a culture of caring for our employees, showing them we’re still a family business despite our corporate size.

How has Reston Limousine changed your life for the better?
It has allowed me to be me! Reston Limousine has leveraged my strengths in building relationships with clients and employees, and the strong family culture here has helped me personally through rough times.

Any additional comments?
Our employees make our company. Even though we continually grow, we’re able to maintain our culture of caring atmosphere, which is so important to retention. I think that’s something we strive for on a daily basis.

Margaret: “I love all the different charitable activities we’ve done over the years, like the Ice Bucket Challenge, dressing up as elves and helping at the YMCA during the holidays, and the breast cancer walk. My fondest memories of being at Reston Limousine are of those that show how much we give back and our culture of caring.”
