Heralded around the world as an up-and-coming wine region, Virginia’s wine history goes back to Thomas Jefferson’s attempts to cultivate European grapes at his Monticello vineyards, which unfortunately never produced a single bottle of wine. It wasn’t until the 1800s that Virginia wines, made from Native American grapes, had any success.

Fast forward to today, when more than 200 wineries have opened their doors to international travelers to enjoy Virginia wine. For our tours for World Police & Fire Games athletes and their families, we will be traveling to two of the state’s best wineries, starting with Pearmund Cellars – voted Best Winery for the second straight year in the Virginia Wine Lover Magazine Readers Choice “Best Of” Contest.

Our next stop is The Winery at Bull Run, a working farm vineyard in an authentic 1860’s setting located next to the historic Manassas National Battlefield Park.

Your tour includes round-trip transportation in our comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles; tasting fees at each winery; and a boxed lunch with your choice of sandwich or salad served with chips, a pickle spear and a fresh-baked cookie. All sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, red onion and provolone cheese.
