Washingtonian rounds up a list of holiday popup bars in The District on their online guide; following are some highlights from their list:

Archipelago transforms its tiki bar into a tropical winter escape they’re calling Sippin’ Santa’s Surf Shack. You’ll be enjoying holiday drinks like the Kris Kringle Colada in fun Santa and island themed cocktail glasses and mugs. Through Dec. 31

 Bar Mitzvah at Ivy and Coney celebrates all things Hannukah, with latkes added to the menu as well as crazily creative drinks including the Sufgani Shots ( jelly donuts in shot form) and the Shot Norah – which can fit eight drinkers at once. Through Dec. 31

Miracle on 7th Street returns for the fifth year of over-the-top themed rooms, with this year’s décor spotlighting the Washington Nationals, teddy bears and Hanukkah. New cocktails including G & Tree with gin pine liqueur join classic favorites such as the Snow Angels, Ice Skating, Cookie Dough and Snuggles. Through Dec. 31

Wunder Garten offers a veritable Winterfest, with 13,000 square feet of decorated displays that set a festive backdrop for seasonal local beers and warm cocktails including spiked cider and  hot chocolates.  Within the climate-controlled Bier Garten, the new popup restaurant Little Chalet features Swiss dishes and a ceiling filled holiday decorations. Other attractions include fire pits, a heated igloo, and the Polar Tunnel, an immersive, virtual art installation by Diod Design. Through Dec. 22

Virginia Popup Bars

In Leesburg, 14 Loudoun will be celebrating the second anniversary of its holiday popup Fa La La with a series of holidays events including an Ugly Sweater Party on Dec. 13, Gingerbread House Wars on Dec. 19 and a Naughty & Nice Party on Dec. 21.

Down the street, Delirium Café Leesburg hosts The Bad Santa Bottle Shop, featuring Christmas-themed  beer and wine, as well as holiday cocktails with appropriately fun names the Slick St. Nick, Run Run Rudolph and more. Through Jan. 5
