Washington DC day trip to Philadelphia Flower Show

Our annual day trips to the Philadelphia Flower Show, billed as “the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show,” is sure to be Brilliant this year! Capturing the majestic beauty and creative inspiration of Great Britain, displays at this year’s Flower Show will pay tribute to centuries of inspiring, influential design sense of London.

Our trips take place Saturday, March 2; Sunday, March 3; and Friday, March 8. We depart at 8 a.m. from the Vienna Metro Station and leave the flower show at 5 p.m. to arrive back at the Vienna Metro Station at about 8 p.m. Cost is $65 and includes round-trip transportation and admission to the show.

The Gardener’s Studio FREE
Besides providing a place to relax while learning something new, the Gardener’s Studio allows gardening and greening experts to share their passion with the public. Activities include the Container Garden Challenges, friendly competitions in which three experts will create beautiful containers using the same materials. The audience can select their favorite by voting via the Flower Show app.

Enjoy   half-hour cooking demonstrations at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.   presented each day by  Organic Gardening magazine. Participating chefs include Daniel Stern, chef and owner of Philadelphia’s famed R2L and MidAtlantic restaurants, and Edward Lee, Organic Gardening’s Simply Fresh Contributing Chef, acclaimed chef at Louisville’s 610 Magnolia, “Iron Chef America” competitor, and James Beard finalist for Best Chef.
