Zagat has come out with its 2013 list of the 10 Best Restaurants in the DC area.
Writer Olga Boikess says the results of a survey of more than 16,000 diners in the Washington, DC/Baltimore area were collected to name the top restaurants. It’s no surprise that the Inn at Little Washington received near perfect scores across the board for food, decor and service. A couple of restaurants in Frederick, MD, also made the Top 10, including highly acclaimed Volt, and newcomer Lucky Corner Vietnamese Restaurant, a place known for “great takeout.”

Italian restaurants were the most popular, with American and Japanese cuisine following closely. The biggest gripe noted by diners was poor service (61%), followed by too much noise (18%). Frederick, MD restaurants scored high marks and is considered a “boomtown” for dining.
The Inn at Little Washington earned the top spot, with near perfect scores for food, decor and service.

Minibar by Jose Andres at Penn Quarter in DC just makes the list at No. 10.
