Reston Limousine CEO Kristina Bouweiri created Sterling Women in August 2008 to foster relationships among businesswomen, and the concept has grown to one of the most popular networking groups in the area.
One of the reasons for its success is that the networking that takes place yields actual business results. Here’s a recent example from Brigitta Toruno, founder and CEO of UNO Translations and Communications:
I want to give kudos to Kristina Jacobsen Bouweiri. She created Sterling Women because of her unending eagerness to see other women business owners succeed and connect through networking. Several months ago I had the opportunity to meet Jan Fox at a Sterling Women event when we sat next to each other. I’m very lucky that she thought that one of her clients, Billy Casper Golf could use language translation services. We are now fortunate to call Billy Casper Golf one of our clients too! We are transcribing, translating, and doing voice-over for two of their employee videos – all in Spanish. (I’m the voice – and so I’m super excited because I love that part of our business.) Thank you so much for this opportunity Kristina and Jan!
The next Sterling Women takes place this Thursday at 1757 Golf Club, 45120 Waxpool Road in Dulles. The featured speaker is Brenda Harrington, a Certified Leadership Coach and president of Adaptive Leadership Strategies. This month’s event is sold out, but to register for the next event, visit www.sterlingwomen.org.
