About the Brewery
Founded by Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey, the two longtime friends decided to seize the opportunity to build a brewery and produce high quality beer in Washington DC. They hoped to make this world-class city a world-class craft beer destination as well. Delivering on the promise of bringing locally hand crafted artisanal ales to the DC community, Dave and Mike continue to innovate and create outstanding beers that offer unparalleled drinking experiences.
The two started out as homebrewers developing recipes with a homebrew lab system. This part time hobby soon turned into a full-blown career for both Dave and Mike. When they realized that building a brewery in Washington DC was just the type of project they had been looking for, they began writing up business plans to put their vision into action. After discussing it with local friends and business associates, they set out to create highly innovative drinking experiences.
They currently have released over 40 different distinct beers and cultivated a reputation for thinking outside the box. Having been recognized for their commitment to their craft, they have been named DC’s Best Local Brewery two years running by Washington City Paper and Rising Stars in 2014 by Star Chefs Magazine.
