About the Winery

Named after her grandmother, Doukenie, who emigrated from Greece, Doukenie Winery offers full-bodied wine, handcrafted and rich in flavors. Produced on the family farm, they will give you pleasure and satisfaction. The winery is a family operation in Loudoun County, DC’s wine country. They provide exceptional hospitality the moment you step through the door of the tasting room.

Voted “Favorite Tasting Room in Virginia” by The Official Virginia Wine Lover’s 2015, 2014, and 2013 Visitor’s Choice Award, Doukenie Winery is burrowed in the foothills of Blue Ridge. The Bazacos planted their first vineyard in 1986 and built the winery in 1995.

Winemaker Sébastien Marquet knew he wanted to be a winemaker since his 12th birthday. Sébastien has been producing wines since 1989. His winemaking career has brought him to many places such as Southern France, Napa Valley in Southern California and now, he finds himself in the hidden gem of Virginia.

While you may come for the wine, you’ll want to stay for the scenic experience. From the wide open blue sky to the mountains that change hues with the seasons to the wide open meadow, Doukenie Winery has everything your outdoor senses could ever want. So see what you’ve been missing out.
