About the Winemaker
At Loudoun Valley Vineyards, guests are invited for a relaxing day of tasting internationally-acclaimed wine created by winemaker Bree Ann Moore. Although only minutes from downtown Leesburg, Loudoun Valley Vineyards offers visitors the best of Northern Virginia’s sweeping landscapes. Wine lovers can enjoy stunning views of the Blue Ridge and Catoctin Mountains from large windows that encase the tasting room. Guests can also take in panoramic vistas while lounging on the shaded, wrap-around deck.
Loudoun Valley Vineyards offers several popular wines for tasting, such as chardonnay, merlot, and the fan-favorite Route 9 red blend. Unique options include a port-style red and a Vin de Pomme made exclusively with Granny Smith apples. Along with wine, Loudoun invites visitors to bring in their own picnics. There is no food for purchase. The winery occasionally hosts live music and local artists.
As child visiting vineyards in the Sonoma Valley, Bree Ann Moore chief winemaker at Loudoun Valley Vineyards learned that wine was an art. Bree Ann believes that vintners make wine from the land, the fruit, and the hands of the winemaker.
Bree Anna’s education at the University of California Davis and as a wine chemist for Beringer Vineyards in Napa Valley only solidified this philosophy. Since opening Loudoun Valley Vineyards in 2008, Bree Ann has applied this careful, hands-on approach to every wine she creates.
