About the Brewery

Located just outside of the nation’s capital in historic Alexandria, Virginia, Port City Brewing Company is a reliable and innovative regional brewer of well-balanced, top quality beers that celebrate their raw materials.

Port City, which was started in January 2011 and is the oldest packaging brewery in the metropolitan area, continues the tradition of the Robert Portner Brewing Company, makers of great beer in 19^th Century Alexandria.  They are proud to revive and celebrate the rich brewing history of the area by producing world class beers for the DC and Mid Atlantic markets.  Port City brews a wide range of year-round, seasonal, and occasional beers that have garnered them numerous awards, including the 2015 Small Brewery of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival.

The tasting room, which is open 7 days a week, offers regular tastings, tours and events.  Guests can also purchase pints, kegs, 6-packs, cases, and growler fills.  The Port City team looks forward to sharing its beer with you soon!
