About the Winery

Originating as a refurbished dairy farm, The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery in the historical town of Hamilton, Virginia.  Sitting only 10 minutes away from Leesburg, The Barns of Hamilton Station is one of the most popular vineyards in the northern Virginia area.  The tasting room is an old restored hundred and six-year-old stone and wood bank barn on a breathtaking eleven acre vineyard.

The main goal of “The Barns” is to make the guests feel as if they’re coming home.  By visiting your home away from home, they hope each person enjoys the fruits of their labor as much as they enjoy sharing them with you.

Winemaker, Michael Shaps, creates Bordeaux French inspired wines with a unique Virginia taste.  He is Virginia’s best-known winemaker and founder of Virginia Cellars.  For the past nine years, he has been making wine in the traditional, old-world style.  In that time, he has consulted with start-up wineries in Virginia to prove that Virginia can produce a successful product that competes head-to-head with some of the finest wines from the best regions in the world.

Dogs are welcome to visit The Barns at Hamilton Station as long as they remain on a leash.  They also offer a light fare of meats, cheeses, spreads, baguettes, crackers, fudge, and their popular picnic basket.  If you prefer, you can also bring your own picnic and enjoy it in the cellar, on the patio, on the deck, and in the tasting room itself.

So come check out what The Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards has to offer.
