Send Kudos to Legislators for Virginia Transportation Bill

As a board member of The Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, CEO Kristina Bouweiri joins the organization in encouraging the public to thank Virginia’s assembly members for pushing through $3.5 billion in new statewide and $1.5 in new regional transportation funds for Northern Virginia — “the first successful, new long-term statewide transportation funding bill in 27 years.”

The legislation came as part of Gov. Bob McDonnell’s amendments to HB 2313, which include reducing the $100 fee on alternative-fuel vehicles to $64, and dropping the vehicle titling tax from 4.3 percent to 4.15, according to the Washington Post.
