Destinations: Hillsborough Vineyards and Bluemont Vineyard

If you’re looking for a relaxing day in the country, Western Loudoun is the perfect destination, and on Sunday, April 26th, Reston Limousine’s Public Wine Tours travels to two boutique vineyards in the area.

The first is Hillsborough Vineyards & Winery, a 36-acre historic farm in Purcellville that offers a treasure trove of gem-named wines crafted in the Old World style.

Reston Limousine guests will be taken to the newly expanded dining room for the tasting, where they will sample a selection of seven Hillsborough wines. If you like one or several in particular, Hillsborough is offering a true “Stimulus Package” — all whites are $15 and reds are $20, including the Bloodstone, the estate’s reserve red.

Enjoy your tastings with Hillsborough’s new offering of cheese platters with an assortment of cheeses, sausages, fruit, homemade chutney and a fresh baked baguette. Each $15 platter can easily feed two people.

If you’re hungry for more, Bluemont Vineyard will take you to the heights of flavor to pair with their wines. The selection includes Amish cheeses, imported salami, infused oils and tapenades, chocolate, crackers, warm baguettes, and more.

Located at 951 feet on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bluemont Vineyard’s tasting room offers amazing panoramic views of Loudoun Valley. An extension of the Zurschmeide family’s wonderful Great Country Farms in the valley below, Bluemont offers three whites, four reds and two desserts wines (strawberry and blackberry).

Cost: $35 per person (does not include tasting room fees or gratuity)
Tasting fees:

Hillsborough Vineyards & Winery: $8 per person
