NYC Restaurant Week 2012 is underway

If you can’t wait for the good deals to come for DC Restaurant Week on Aug. 13-19, then perhaps a day trip or weekender to the Big Apple will sate your appetite until then.

The 20th anniversary of New York City’s Restaurant Week has started and ends Aug. 20 — that’s still more than two weeks of good deals at some of the city’s top restaurants.

The official guide to NYC Restaurant Week 2012 shows three-course lunch specials for $24.07 and dinner deals for $35 at more than 300 participating restaurants. The site also has menus for you to peruse for all the restaurants involved.

Whether you’re bringing a private group for an unforgettable dining experience, or just want to take that special someone on a date they’ll never forget, you’ll want to  book your private car or limousine soon, and start making lunch or dinner reservations!

You’ll get to choose from popular, celebrity chef-led restaurants such as Bobby Flay’s  Mesa Grill and Tom  Colicchio & Sons Tap Room. Zagat-rated  Blue Water Grill, Union Square’s classic seafood restaurant is also participating. The exquisite  Nobu in Tribeca has specials as well.

If you’re looking to try a restaurant that’s gaining traction as the place to see and be seen, head to Ai Fiori just south of midtown in the Setai Hotel Fifth Avenue. With hundreds more restaurants participating all over the city, covering cuisine from all around the world, you might need more than a day trip or weekender to take advantage of the specials.
